Talent Mapping

An insurance client had faced problems in attracting and retaining senior individuals and wanted to implement a talent mapping process that would identify individuals for current and future roles.

Although this project focussed on sales and marketing, it was about identifying and nurturing the right people for the organisation rather than identifying specific skills and experience and therefore began with creating a character map, based on interviews and assessment of current successful and high achieving employees, against which external individuals could be assessed.

The research focussed on six sectors – mobile, retail banking & payments, insurance, mobile payments & prepaid, membership businesses, BPOs and marketing services/data businesses – and was designed to identify a small, manageable group of individuals the client could then develop and nurture a relationship with and from which they have subsequently hired.
